When a hotel business has been run by the same family for more than 250 years and over 9 generations, then it can be described as a success story.
Their origins lie in the mid-18th century, when stagecoaches traveling between Stuttgart and Lake Constance paused in Ödenwaldstetten – presumably to change horses and cargo, and certainly also to refresh themselves, perhaps even spending the night there. And so, hospitality skills arose and developed, passed down and inherited.
Today, two hundred and fifty years later, the Speidel family runs one of the most successful family-run seminar and meeting houses in southern Germany with their Hotel Speidel's BrauManufaktur, and also offers a unique experience space with a sustainability guarantee in the form of the interactive brewery.
The combination of these elements and the strong family tradition is likely the secret to their success. Speidel's dedicate their craftsmanship and the working conditions offered by their historic estate entirely to conference organizers.
The conference rooms impress with their authenticity – located in the historic brewery, they are named not only "Malt Store," "Barrel Breaker," "Braander," and "Grinder," but also reflect their historical structures and original functions. Of course, conference participants don't have to forgo modern comforts – the building offers state-of-the-art presentation and communication technology, the rooms are ergonomically furnished and equipped, and all have natural light.
The historic hotel section is complemented by a lodging building constructed in 2005 - a harmonious contrast that draws its fascination from modern architecture, straight lines, exposed concrete and the use of light woods.
But what would a conference stay in this house be without having tasted the beer?! Brewing seminars in three categories are available for this purpose – these are moderated and guests are involved in the work process.
The kitchen expertly processes regional products – for example, to create Swabian classics.
Hosting in today's world has been expanded: The business is part of the "Biosphere Host" cooperation.
